PDO threads are absorbable sutures placed under the skin to lift and reposition tissue that has descended. As well as the immediate lift, the threads stimulate collagen as they dissolve, so the skin continues to firm for months afterwards.
Who it suits
People with mild to moderate laxity along the jawline or in the mid face, who want definition back without surgery. Threads suit someone who has good skin quality but has lost sharpness. If there is significant heaviness, I will tell you honestly that threads will not be enough.
What to expect
A consultation first, because threads are not right for everyone. On the day the area is numbed with local anaesthetic, and the treatment takes forty five to sixty minutes. You will feel pulling but not sharp pain.
Aftercare and downtime
This is the treatment with the most downtime. Expect swelling, tightness and possible bruising for one to two weeks. Sleep on your back, avoid wide mouth movements, dental work and facials for two weeks, and keep exercise light. Plan around three weeks before an event.

How long do threads last?
The threads themselves dissolve in six to eight months. The collagen they stimulate means the effect generally holds for twelve to eighteen months.
Is it painful?
Uncomfortable rather than painful. The area is fully numbed with local anaesthetic first.
Can I combine threads with filler?
Often that is the best plan. Threads reposition, filler restores volume. I will map out what order makes sense at your consultation.
