Dermal Fillers

Soft, natural volume for lips, cheeks, jawline and chin. Built up gradually so the result reads as your face, not as filler.

Dermal filler replaces volume that has been lost, or adds definition where a feature is naturally soft. I use hyaluronic acid fillers, which are temporary and reversible, and I place them in small amounts so we build towards a result rather than chasing it in one appointment.

Who it suits

Anyone who feels their face has flattened with age, or who wants more shape in a specific feature. It is also for people who have had filler elsewhere and did not like the outcome. I dissolve as often as I fill, and I will tell you honestly if dissolving first is the better starting point.

What to expect

We start with a proper consultation and a facial assessment, looking at your face as a whole rather than the one area you came in about. I mark, I explain what I am doing and why, and I use numbing cream and fillers that contain local anaesthetic. Most appointments take between thirty and sixty minutes.

Aftercare and downtime

Expect some swelling and possibly small bruises for two to five days, more with lips than anywhere else. Avoid heat, alcohol, strenuous exercise and facials for forty eight hours, sleep slightly elevated for the first two nights, and do not book this in the week before an event. The final result settles at around two to four weeks.

Questions I get asked

How long does filler last?

Between six and eighteen months depending on the area and the product. Lips move constantly so they tend to go first. Cheeks and jawline hold much longer.

Will it look obvious?

Not if it is done in the right amount and the right place. Overfilling is what makes filler visible, and I will not do it. If you ask for more than I think suits you, I will say so.

Can it be reversed?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler is dissolved with hyaluronidase. That is one of the reasons I use it.
